ex. 8 x 6 = 56
8 x 60 = 560
8 x 600 = 5600
8 x 6000 = 56000 ... you get the idea
Students must also know the distributive property of multiplication.
ex. 8 x 93 = (8 x 90) + (8 x 3)
4 x 17 = (4 x 10) + (4 x 7)
