Welcome Back! (week 1)

It's time for another great school year. Welcome to the fourth grade.

Some important things to note this year.
  • We are moving from the GPS to the CCGPS standards. This means that students will be required to do more reading and writing across the curriculum.
  • Students will be required to answer the standard multiple choice tests questions, as well as open ended essay type questions.
  • Students must be able to explain their methods and reasoning for solving a problem.
Homework: Answer the following questions. Show your work and explain the reasoning to your method.
  • Monday: none
  • Tuesday: Shenay's home is 1,177 miles from her grandmother's house. If Shenay drives to her grandmother's house and back, how many miles will she drive?
  • Wednesday: What is the difference between the values of 6 and 7 in the number 96,711?
  • Thursday: The local high school graduates 116 students every year. In the past 7 years, how many students graduated from high school?
  • Friday: none
