Place Value (week 2) 8/13 - 8/17

We will be discussing place-value this week. Students should know all of their place-values from the ones to the hundred-millions, including the tenths and the hundredths (decimals). Have students practice reading and writing numbers. Discuss place value and number comparison as you are out shopping together.

Homework: You MUST include the question, show your work, and give a detailed explanation (write in complete sentences) to receive credit for the homework. 

• Monday: Study your multiplication facts. We will be having a quiz this week. This will be a review from third-grade, but many students are weak in this area. 
• Tuesday: Paola has 4 dols in her bedroom. She has 3 more in the playroom downstairs. Each doll has 3 outfits. How many outfits do all of Paola's dolls have?
• Wednesday: Dan recorded 5 shows on his DVR today. That's 2 fewer than he recorded yesterday. If each show was 30 minutes long, how many minutes of shows did Dan record yesterday?
• Thursday: 82,444 fans came to the first state college football game of the season. 36,081 fans came to the second game. How may more fans came to the first game than the second?
• Friday: none.
